Olga Tinilau
Hello, I’m Olga! As a compassionate mental health counsellor and a dedicated mum of four, I bring a wealth of life experience and a deep passion for helping others. Born in Spain and raised in Australia, my diverse background enriches my understanding of various cultures and perspectives.
My journey began with a rewarding 30-year career in hairdressing, where I developed a profound understanding of people and a passion for helping others. This experience inspired me to pursue higher education, leading to my Bachelor of Counselling degree from Griffith University. During my studies, I worked in mental health support roles, gaining invaluable experience with complex mental health clients and honing my communication skills and psychological flexibility.
My cross-cultural communication skills ensure every client feels understood and respected. I use a variety of evidence-based therapies within a person-centered, strength-based framework. I work in a manner that is friendly, non-judgmental, and collaborative.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, I am committed to making my services inclusive and accessible to all, proudly supporting LGBTQIA+ and First Nations people. My empathetic nature, combined with extensive training, allows me to provide personalised and effective counselling to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
These experiences have shaped me into a dedicated counsellor, committed to creating a warm and welcoming environment. I strive to ensure individuals feel safe and comfortable sharing their deepest fears and concerns, knowing they will be met with empathy and understanding.
